ABOUT GEGISOM

The Georgia E. Gregory Interdenominational School of Music, Inc. is a non-profit, faith-based charitable performing arts institution, established July , 1999. Our motto” TODAY’S YOUTH –TOMORROW’S MUSIC

To provide a safe, creative facility where at-risk inner city youth can experience social, cognitive and cultural development through music and the performing arts in the underserved community of North Philadelphia.
To provide a venue for adults to be trained in music and development of music careers.
To provide quality music education / training to schools and organizations in our community through our GEGISOM YOUNG SCHOLARS PROGRAM)
Since COVID19, March 2020, GEGISOM expanded programming to address hunger -insecurity with food distribtuions and health and wellness partnering with the Philadelphia Department of Health in our underserved Upper North Philadelphia community.

GEGISOM’S Core Programs Include:

Indivudal & Group Music / Dance Instruction on and off site Piano, Organ, Keyboard, Guitar, Percussion, Violin, Voice, Handbells Classes and Ballet, Hip Hop and Praise Dances.

Drama Classes on and off site.
All dance classes on or off site.
Music Tech Classes on and off site where students can create and record music.

Summer Music Camp
Camp Youth Leadership Program
Out of school music education programming.

Private Music Instruction

We offer the following classes:

DRUMMING (Ages 6 and up) $40 hour / $7 hour with scholarship. Scholarships are available.

KEYBOARD/ PIANO ( Ages 5 and up) $20 1/2 hour $40 hour $10 1/2 hour $20 hour with scholarship. Scholarships available.

GUITAR (Ages 6 and up) $20 1/2 hour $40 hour. $10 1/2 hour $20 hour with scholarship. Scholarships available.

VOICE (Ages 6 and up) $20 1/2 hour $40 hour. $10 1/2 hour or $20 hour with scholarship. Scholarships available based on household income.

Modern/Jazz Dance (Same as Ballet I and II for youth) or Adults.
Music Tech Class (Ages 13-18) $15.00 per week;
Music Theory and Composition $25.00 for 45 minutes.
Organ (Allen)*
Percussion / Praise Dance (5 and up) $25 wk: with scholarship $5.00 perweek
Strings (6 and up) $15 wk (Group)
ONE TIME REGISTRATION FEE: $25.00
DURING COVID19 LESSONS FOR YOUTH ARE TUITION FREE.

SUMMER MUSIC & PERFORMING ARTS CAMP FOR AGES 6-13 YEARS.
